Two boys aged 15 and 25 stabbed to death in gang brawls in Madrid
The night from Saturday to Sunday was bloody and tragic in the capital of Spain.
Two boys, aged 15 and 25, were stabbed to death and another 17-year-old was also seriously injured by a knife in three events that occurred in Madrid in less than an hour. The Spanish National Police investigate the events as brawls between gangs in two of the cases.
According to the Madrid Emergency Service, the 15-year-old was stabbed to death on Calle Atocha, on the corner of Paseo del Prado (in the center of the capital city), after attending a party at a nightclub.
The victim was treated at the scene by Samur-Proteccion Civil doctors for a stab wound to the left hemithorax, but after carrying out resuscitation maneuvers for 30 minutes, they have only been able to confirm his death.
The crime was committed next to the entrance of the Independence Club disco.
The deceased is a resident of the Vallecas neighborhood and Spanish nationality of Maghreb origin. He was with other friends of Spanish nationality at the time he was stabbed by several of the young people with whom he had previously argued inside the disco.
According to the newspaper El Mundo, a light session had begun in the disco at 5:00 p.m. for children under 16, attended by groups of Latino, Spanish and North African boys who had been involved in some confrontation on other days.
Around 10 pm there was a fight near the entrance of the nightclub in which at least ten young people were involved. Some drew machetes and knives.
The 15-year-old received a machete blow to the chest and walked several meters until he fell in front of the McDonalds located at the confluence of Paseo del Prado and Calle de Atocha.
According to El Mundo, the Spanish police suspect that the attackers are young Spaniards of South American origin who could belong to a Latin gang. The Police have requested the video surveillance cameras in the area and are questioning the friends of the deceased.
Death in a public park
Shortly after, at 11:00 p.m., in a park located in the San FermÃn neighborhood of the Madrid district of Usera, doctors from the Samur-Civil Protection attended a 25-year-old Colombian with several stab wounds to his neck, side and back.
The doctors tried to revive him without success for several minutes until they confirmed his death.
A person of Spanish nationality and from the Latin gang of the Dominicans Don't Play (DDP) has been arrested for this homicide. According to the first data, the victim was attacked by a group of about 15 young people from the DDP.
It is unknown if the victim belonged to a gang. The police are investigating whether the crime is related to a recent event that occurred in the area between Latino gangs.
17-year-old stabbed
Before these two fatal events, on Monasterio de Guadalupe street, in the Montecarmelo neighborhood, a 17-year-old boy suffered multiple stab wounds and was taken to La Paz Hospital in a very serious condition.
The police are investigating all these events as brawls between gangs, according to investigative sources cited by the Spanish media.
