Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid appointed a new education minister on Wednesday, after the previous office holder resigned following a scandal involving the use of a government car.

Jaak Aab, previously the minister for public administration, was picked as the replacement for Mailis Reps, who quit last week.

Reps, a single mother, reportedly used a driver from the ministry and a government car to drop off and pick up her six children from school multiple times, without her being present with them in the vehicle, according to a report in the tabloid Ohtuleht.

Anneli Ott will take over for Aab, and took an oath on Wednesday in Tallinn.

With Reps' resignation and Aab's change of post, four members of the Baltic state's government left office early in November alone.
