Estonia is introducing stricter rules for those wishing to enter certain public spaces in light of rising coronavirus case numbers.
From Monday, anyone entering entertainment, cultural or sporting venues must prove they have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus or recovered.
The provision also applies to restaurants.
A negative Covid-19 test will no longer be sufficient for participation or admission, the government announced on Wednesday.
Tougher face mask rules are also being implemented as of next week.
Retailers and service providers have been told to ensure that anyone entering their premises are wearing proper face masks. Scarves and cloth coverings will not be sufficient.
The new rules will initially apply until 10 January 2022.
Schools
The government also tightened quarantine and testing requirements in schools and for extracurricular activities.
Coronavirus numbers have risen significantly in Estonia recently. In the past 14 days, 1,167.1 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were recorded, according to official figures.
In the Baltic state with 1.2 million inhabitants, about 55% of the population is fully vaccinated.
Several countries on the continent have seen a fresh wave of cases as colder weather sets in, especially in Central and Eastern Europe, where vaccination rates are lower.
