Colombian police seize more than 2 tons of cocaine destined for Europe
The drug was found inside a container destined for the Dutch port of Rotterdam
Colombian anti-drug investigators have seized more than two tons of cocaine at the port in the city of Cartagena.
The drugs haul's value is estimated at more than 400 billion pesos (more than 106 million dollars), the Defence Ministry and police tweeted on Saturday.
Further details were initially not disclosed.
According to Colombian media reports, more than 2,000 packets of cocaine were discovered in bags in a container with refrigerators which was destined for the Dutch port of Rotterdam.
On Friday that the Colombian police had announced that in cooperation with the German authorities, 400 kilos of cocaine were seized in Cartagena's port and in the port of the northern German city of Hamburg.
Colombia is the most important country of origin of cocaine, followed by Peru and Bolivia, where the coca plant is also grown.
Much of the white powder is smuggled into the United States.
