How to make an appointment in Spain to file the 2022 Income Tax return
The 2021-2022 Income Tax campaign started on Wednesday 6 April. Spanish taxpayers can now electronically request the draft of their tax return and submit it by the same means.
But the Spanish tax authority (Agencia Tributaria or AEAT) also offers the options of telephone or face-to-face assistance at the offices to submit the income tax return. In both cases, it is essential to request an appointment in advance.
On Tuesday 3 May, taxpayers will be able to request an appointment for the telephone service of the Income Tax campaign. And two days later, on 5 May, the staff of the tax authority will begin to contact the applicants, so it is important not to leave the phone on the agreed date and time and to have the necessary documents at hand.
The personal income tax telephone campaign will be active until June 30.
For those who wish to file the tax declaration in person, at an office of the Tax Agency, the term to book an appointment opens on Thursday 26 May. And five days later, on Wednesday 1 June, face-to-face service will begin at the offices for those who have booked an appointment.
In both cases (telephone and face-to-face presentation of the income statement) the deadline to request an appointment ends on 29 June.
