There are only a few days left for Easter holiday. This is normally an unfavorable period for very long trips, since most people who can enjoy a vacation have only a few days to do it. Therefore, it is likely that many might be thinking of making car trips in Europe, either starting from Finland with their own vehicles or by renting a car once in the country of destination.
If you are planning one of these trips, probably you will be interested in knowing beforehand the fuel prices in the different countries of the European Union (EU). Next, you will find the information that will allow you to calculate how much it will cost you to fill the tank in the country where you are going.
The prices mentioned in this article have been taken from the last Oil Bulletin published by the European Commission on April 1. These are consumer prices in euros inclusive of duties and taxes.
Finland, so used to leading rankings, in this case is not among the top positions.
The gasoline
As for gasoline 95, travelers who want to enjoy a holiday in Bulgaria and travel by car will be the ones who save the most. Bulgaria is the country of the EU with the cheapest liter of gasoline: 1,063 euros per liter. It is followed by Poland, with 1,158 euros; Romania, with 1,169 euros; Hungary, with 1,177 euros; Cyprus and Lithuania, both with 1,181 euros per liter.
On the contrary, prepare to scratch your pocket to the bottom if you are traveling to The Netherlands. This country has the most expensive gasoline in the European Union, it is paid at 1,665 euros per liter. It is followed by Denmark, where gasoline costs 1,618 euros, Greece (1,590 euros), Italy (1,573), France (1,524), Sweden (1,522), Portugal (1,504) and Finland (1,500).
The diesel
If you are going to drive a diesel car, you should know that the cheapest liter of this fuel is in Luxembourg, where it only costs 1,086 euros. In second place is -again- Bulgaria, where the liter of diesel costs only 1,130 euros. It is followed by the southernmost of the Baltic States, Lithuania (1,145 euros per liter) and Poland (1,183 euros per liter).
If instead you want to know where you should avoid a diesel car, you should bear in mind that the most expensive gas oil automobile is in the United Kingdom (1,535 euros per liter), followed by Sweden (1,527 euros), Belgium ( 1.418), Finland (1.412) and Denmark (1.410).
