The Spanish high-speed train (AVE) between Madrid and the northwestern region of Galicia is now a reality, after two decades of waiting.
To celebrate, the Spanish railway company (Renfe) put 250,000 tickets on sale this Tuesday for a fixed price of 15 euros, regardless of the origin or destination of the passenger's journey. Tickets can be traveled between 21 December 2021 and 12 September 2022.
Promotion tickets can be purchased from 10.00 a.m. on Tuesday, 23 November until 7 December (or until they are sold out).
From 21 December, Renfe will offer two daily high-speed AVE services between Ourense and Madrid. In addition, connections with other Galician cities such as Vigo and La Coruña will also be reinforced with Alvia fast trains.
According to Renfe, the journey on board the high-speed train between Madrid and Ourense will involve a journey of two hours and 15 minutes.
In the rest of the sections, from Madrid to Santiago 3 hours and 20 minutes, to La Coruña 3 hours and 51 minutes, from Madrid to Pontevedra 4 hours, from Madrid to Vigo 4 hours and 16 minutes and to Lugo 4 hours and 46 minutes.
