The low-cost airline Wizz Air has announced the opening of a new route from New Belgrade (Serbia) and the Finnish city of Turku.

Direct flights between bot cities will be operated from mid-July onwards.

"The route from Belgrade to Turku is brand new for the airline, and Turku celebrates the new opportunities that the new route brings," Finnish airport company (Finavia) said in a press release.

New Belgrade is a municipality of the city of Belgrade and the central business district in Serbia. Located on the left bank of the Sava river, it is the fastest developing area in Belgrade and the place where many large companies move.

“We are pleased to see that airlines, like Wizz Air, are able to announce the opening of new routes despite the exceptional springtime. At Finavia, we are making sure that traveling via our airports is always safe and smooth,” says Director of Turku Airport Juha Aaltonen.

In addition to Belgrade, Wizz Air has also started operating flights from Turku to Gdansk, Warsaw, and Krakow (Poland) in June 2020.

Before traveling, passengers are recommended to familiarize themselves with Finavia’s passengers’ check-list for tips and instructions for travellers.

Finavia also recommends passengers to "actively follow the instructions given by their airline."
