With the arrival of good weather, Tampere becomes even more welcoming and its inhabitants go out to the streets to celebrate that light has taken over the world. Throughout the summer, the city of Tampere boils with the celebration of music and art festivals, some of them outdoors.
Below, and following the suggestions of Visit Tampere, we propose you the 4 main festivals celebrated in June. Just in case you want to take a walk around there.
The Tampere Guitar Festival (3-9.June)

Skillful guitar tunes take over Tampere and the region again in June. Tampere Guitar Festival, the most prestige guitar event in Finland, celebrates its 15th Anniversary this summer. The festival is dedicated for guitar culture, especially for acoustic guitar.
The event takes place on June 3rd– 9th 2019 and consists of daily concerts, International Classical Guitar Competition of Finland, guitar courses and lectures.
The main artists of Tampere Guitar Festival 2019 are Assad Brothers (BRA), Frank Vignola Duo (USA) and Timo Korhonen (FIN). Show & Dinner event Midnight Sun Guitar Cruise provides a unique way to experience it while enjoying tasty buffet dishes.

Vocal music festival - Tampereen Sävel (4-9 June)

Every other summer Tampere celebrates the diversity of the human voice at the festival of choral and ensemble singing.
Since 1986 in the international atmosphere of the festival, old and new music, choir tradition and for instance beatboxing all coexist in harmony. The festival culminates in the finales of the Chorus Review and the Contest for Vocal Ensembles, where the atmosphere is palpable. In addition, workshops and free concerts draw audience interested in vocal music from around the world.
The Artistic Director of the Tampere Vocal Music Festival in 2019 is the singer Tuukka Haapaniemi.

Valtteri Festival (21-22 June)

This is one of the proposals of the city of Tampere to spend there your Midsummer fest.
Valtteri Festival will be heard at Tullikamarin Pakkahuone, Klubi and restaurant Telakka! There will be concerts, as well as a free-of-charge programme and daytime events for the whole family.

Tampere Flamenco Festival (24-29 June)

Tampere Flamenco Festival is the oldest and most known Flamenco festival in the Nordic countries. Over the years, the festival has hosted many prominent flamenco stars from Spain. It is also a showcase for Finnish flamenco artists, both amateur and professionals.
The festival is produced and organized by the Tampere Flamenco Festival Association. It is famous for its warm atmosphere and spontaneous fiestas under the midnight sun. Join this year if you want to celebrate the beauty, expression and passion of flamenco art!
