2 million passengers flew through Finnish airports in January
Altogether 2 million passengers flew through Finnish airports in January 2020. And of them, 80% did it through the Helsinki-Vantaa airport, which is becoming a growing hub between Europe and Asia.
According to the latest figures on transport and tourism published by Statistics Finland, there were 1.6 million passengers at Helsinki Airport and a total of 0.4 million passengers at other domestic airports. Helsinki Airport accounted for 80% of all passengers at Finnish airports.

International travelers
73% of the passengers in Finnish airports were from international flights and 27 per cent from domestic flights.
Of the passengers at Helsinki Airport, 83% were from international flights. 97% of the passengers at Helsinki Airport flew on scheduled flights and 3% on chartered flights.
At the other domestic airports, 16% of the passengers flew on chartered flights.
Air freight and mail transports amounted to 17.004 tonnes in total, and 98% of the tonnes were transported through Helsinki Airport.
95% of the tonnes were transported between Finland and foreign countries. Altogether, 9.370 tonnes of the goods were outgoing and 7.634 tonnes were incoming.
