Five-time record winners Sevilla and Bayer Leverkusen progressed to the Europa League quarter-finals with victories over Roma and Rangers respectively on Thursday.

Julen Lopetegui's Sevilla ousted the Italians 2-0 in a one-leg last-16 clash in Duisburg, a neutral venue, while Leverkusen’s 1-0 second leg victory handed them a 4-1 aggregate win.

Wolverhampton Wanderers followed them with a 1-0 win over Olympiacos, progressing 2-1 on aggregate, and will face Sevilla, while Basel beat Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 to go through 4-0 on aggregate and play Shakhtar.

Sevilla dominated the first half, with Lucas Ocampos having an effort tipped over by Pau Lopez and Jules Kounde heading against the crossbar.

Sergio Reguilon, on loan from Real Madrid, broke the deadlock after 22 minutes as he drove into the area and fired in a shot which squirmed under Lopez.

Ocampos did brilliantly to beat Roger Ibanez on the counter attack and set up Youssef En-Nesyri for the second, the striker firing home from close range.

Ever Banega hit the bar with a late free kick as the Andalusians stayed on top until the end to set up a clash with either Wolverhampton Wanderers or Olympiacos, who play later.

Roma's Gianluca Mancini was sent off for an elbow on Luuk de Jong in the final stages.

"It was a complete game from us in all ways, both in an attacking and defending sense," said Reguilon.

"Now we've got to recover well because we've got another final in four days. Everybody can be proud of this team, which gives everything out there on the field."

"With a great group of lads and great people like we've got here, you can got a long way and I hope to win the Europa League with Sevilla. Each one of us is a spoke in this wheel."

Clash with Inter Milan

Moussa Diaby's second half goal for Leverkusen saw them set up a clash with Inter Milan in the quarters, after the Italian side beat Getafe on Wednesday.

Raul Jimenez struck from the penalty spot for Wolves to help them through, with goalkeeper Rui Patricio making a string of fine saves to keep their Greek opponents at bay.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side were clinging on to their slender lead by the end, earned when Daniel Podence was barged over in the box and Jimenez slotted home.

Mo Camara thought he had equalised for the visitors but the goal was ruled fractionally offside by the video assistant referee.

Wolves kept a fourth consecutive home clean sheet in the tournament to reach the quarter-finals of a major European competition for the first time since 1972.

The quarter-finals take place in Germany as one-leg matches on Monday and Tuesday next week.
