For the first time since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, football stadiums in Spain will be allowed to operate at 100-per-cent capacity, the Spanish Ministry of Health said on Wednesday.
The new rules go into effect on Friday.
From March 2020 until last May, games were played behind closed doors due to the pandemic.
At the start of this season's La Liga, the first spectators were allowed back into the stadiums, which were partially filled, most recently up to 60 per cent of their capacity.
For indoor sporting events such as basketball, the previous limit of 40 per cent is to be raised to 80 per cent from October.
Incidence falling
The coronavirus situation in Spain is currently going well. The seven-day incidence is 27.5, which is lower than in Germany, for example.
The situation in hospitals is also better, while 77.7 per cent of the population are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
