An Airbus 319 of the Volotea airline that was flying between Bilbao (Basque Country) and La Coruña (Galicia) had to make an emergency landing on Friday due to a bomb threat.

The event occurred at 7:25 in the morning. As reported by the airline in Twitter, 105 passengers were traveling on the plane, as well as 6 crew members.

After landing, the aircraft was parked in an isolated area of the airport and the passengers and crew were evacuated without their luggage to a secure facility.

Security forces and firefighters came to the airport. The Civil Guard took over the investigation.

The Civil Guard experts checked the cabin and the hold of the plane, but found no traces of explosives. The bomb warning was made to the 112 emergency service in Bilbao.

The Government Delegation in Galicia considered the case as a "false alarm". The security operation was deactivated at 10:00 in the morning. All passengers and crew are safe and sound.

The airport remained operational.
