The Netflix streaming platform opens up to new types of content and now also offers video games.

Since Tuesday, there are five titles available to all users of the world who have smartphones or tablets with Android operating systems.

'Stranger Things: 1984', 'Stranger Things 3: The Game', 'Shooting Hoops', 'Card Blast' and 'Teeter Up' are the first video game titles to be available, but they won't be the only ones.

Netflix intends to expand its entertainment offering with more titles for gamers in the future, the company said in a statement.

"Our intention is to create a catalog of games that offers options for everyone, whether you want to try a simple game to have some play without complications or if you are looking to delve into your favorite stories with an immersive experience. We are taking the first steps towards create a first-class gaming experience, and it's great to be able to count on you on this journey, "said Netflix.

Without additional costs

In order to play, users only need to have an active Netflix account. According to the company, the price of the subscription will not increase and gamers will be able to play without additional costs, without having to see ads or make purchases within the application.

Users will be able to find within the application a specific category dedicated to video games, from where they can download any of them.

At the moment the company only offers video games for Android devices, but it is expected to be able to offer them soon also to users of iOS operating systems, that is, to iPhone and iPad users.

Netflix's move comes after its competitor HBO Max announced a significant increase in content on its platform and many discounts to compete in the streaming platform market.
