Two people were killed and another was seriously injured by shots fired early Saturday morning inside an apartment building in the Perno neighborhood, in the city of Turku.
According to police information, at 4.02 AM a notice to the emergency call center alerted the police of the event, which is being investigated as two alleged murders and another attempted.
According to the scant preliminary information that has been released, "several shots" were fired at the scene. Upon arrival, police officers found two people dead and another seriously injured, who was taken to a hospital for medical attention.
Suspect arrested
On the landing of the stairs, the police found a man in his 30s, who was arrested on suspicion of having carried out the massacre. Both the suspect and the victims are all adults.
The police pointed out that the investigation is still at a very early stage, so they cannot provide more information on the case.
According to the newspaper Turun Sanomat, police isolated the building and didn't allow neighbours to leave.
