The suspected author of the shooting that wounded a man on Thursday in the city of Oulu (northwest of Finland) is already in police custody, as informed the Police Department of Oulu.

The alarm was unleashed on Thursday after at 11:27 a person notified the Emergency Center that a man had been shot in the Pouliväkangas area.
Several police patrols were sent to the scene, where officers found a man with bullet wounds on his upper body. The victim was sent to the hospital, but at the moment no more details about his condition are known.
On the day of the events, the police informed that the suspect was known by the investigators, who have since visited several points in Oulu and carried out several measures to find him.
This Friday, the suspect himself contacted the police, who proceeded to arrest him. The incident is being investigated as an attempted homicide.
By now "there is no information on the motive of the act", informed Antti Palokangas from the Oulu police investigation unit.
