An unusual event occurred on the night of Friday to Saturday in Helsinki and ended with the arrest of a man, of foreign descent as shown in the video images, who was driving a taxi and was involved in a serious incident with the police.
According to a police statement, the man was arrested for resisting authority and for endangering traffic safety.
According to the police account, Helsinki police officers were after midnight carrying out work related to traffic safety in Erottajankatu, when one of the drivers tried to escape the scene. During the flight, he tried to run over one of the police officers who were doing the work.

Fugitive intercepted
Shortly after, the fugitive was intercepted by a police patrol at a crossroads, in front of a traffic light. After blocking him with a van, an agent hastily got out of the vehicle and, gun in hand pointed at the driver, forced him to get out of the taxi, according to a video posted on the social network Tik Tok.
The suspect got out of the taxi and was quickly put into the police van, under arrest.
