267 accidents involving personal injury happened in Finnish roads in May. In them, 13 people were killed and other 306 were injured.
The number of people killed was five lower and that of people injured 101 lower than in May 2019, according to Statistics Finland's data.
Of those who were killed, 7 travelled by passenger car, 1 by van, 2 by motorcycle and 1 by lorry and by bus. Cyclists killed in road traffic accidents numbered 2. Among those who died, 8 were men and 5 were women.
January-May
A total of 1,231 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in January to May period. In them, 82 people were killed and 1,505 injured. The number of people killed was 7 higher and that of people injured 241 lower than in the corresponding period of 2019.
Of the people who were killed, 50 travelled by passenger car, 4 by van, 3 by motorcycle and 2 by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered 10 and cyclists 8. In addition, 5 other road users were killed, Statistics Finland said.
