R-kioski started charging fees for selling HSL tickets
Are you one of those who think that everything is joy with the arrival of the new year? Sorry, but we have to tell you that it is not always like that.
If you live in the Helsinki area and you use public transport for example to go to your work or study place, you must know that since 1 January 2020, R-kioski started charging extra fees for loading HSL travel cards or for selling single tickets.
The main Finnish convenience store company informed in its website that the service charge will be 3.5% when loading a HSL card with a monthly ticket.
Simply adding credit to your regular travel card will cost 1 euro each time.
When buying single tickets, R-kioski will charge 0.20 euros per ticket if the cost is below 3 euros. When the ticket costs more than 3 euros, the service charge will be 0.40 euros.
If you want to avoid those extra payments, you can still purchase your tickets from the HSL ticket machines, in the HSL service points or by using the HSL app, which allows you to use your phone as your ticket.
