Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas will visit Helsinki on Friday 19 February at the invitation of Prime Minister Sanna Marin, the government communications department said in a press release.
This will be the first visit to Finland by Prime Minister Kallas, who took office in January, a week-and-a-half after her predecessor Juri Ratas resigned in connection with corruption allegations against his Centre party.
According to government information, Prime Ministers Marin and Kallas will discuss bilateral relations between Finland and Estonia, the management of Covid-19 pandemic, international affairs and topical EU issues.
Security and defence
Topics on the agenda will include next week’s extraordinary videoconference of the European Council concerning the COVID-19 pandemic and security and defence cooperation.
Prime Minister Kallas will also meet with President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö.
