In the third quarter of 2020, prices of existing detached houses went up by 2.8% from the previous year. According to Statistics Finland's data, in Greater Helsinki, prices went up by 5.3% and in the rest of the country by 2.5%.
Compared with the previous quarter, prices of old single-family houses increased by 1.7%.
These statistics cover single-family houses located on own plot and are compiled by utilizing data from the real estate transaction register of the National Land Survey of Finland.
3,402 euros per m2 in Helsinki
In the whole country, the average price per square meter of old single-family houses was 1,647 euros in the third quarter of 2020.
But that average price doubles in the Greater Helsinki area, where it amounts to 3,402 euros. In the rest of the country, the average price was 1,518 euros per m2.
Regarding the plots, prices increased by 7.4% in the whole country year over year. From the previous quarter, prices of plots increased by 2.8%.
The average price per m2 for a single-family house plot was 20.6 euros and the average size of sold plots was 2,991 m2.
More houses sold
In the third quarter of the current year, over 3% more transactions of existing single-family houses were made than in the corresponding period of last year.
In Greater Helsinki around 6% more transactions were made and in the rest of Finland slightly over 3% more.
