The East Finland police department informed that the dead bodies of the two young people who were missing since New Year's eve in Iisalmi were found on Friday in the river.
According to police information, Markus Heikkilä and Salla-Mari Tuoilainen, both 20 years old, were found drowned in Paloisvirta area.
"Police are currently investigating the cause of death and no more information is available," explained inspector Veli Pallonen.
On 2 January, the Eastern Finland police distributed two photos and demanded citizen´s collaboration in order to find Markus and Salla-Mari.
They both were last seen in New Year's eve, around midnight, in a restaurant located in Iisalmi downtown area. After that, it was impossible to contact them.
