The police suspect that Milla Aronen, a 21-year-old woman from Somero (Western Finland) who was reported missing on 11 June, was killed.

The National Bureau of Investigation (Keskusrikospoliisi), which is investigating the case, informed in a press release that the data collected until now suggest that Aronen did not disappear voluntarily. Therefore, the police experts suspect this is a "homicide" case.

Milla Aronen is missing since Saturday 8 June, when someone saw her in Somero at her home yard, in the town center. She was reported missing by relatives on 11 June. "In the course of the investigation, facts emerged that give reasons to suspect that Aronen was a victim of homicide" committed during that weekend, the Police said.

Suspects

Finnish newspaper Iltalehti reported in June that at the time of the disappearance Milla Aronen was performing military service at the Pori Brigade in Säkylä. For this reason, she was expected to return to Säkylä on Sunday 9 June, but that never happened.

The police have at least one suspect in the case, but cannot tell more at this stage on the investigation, the Finnish News Agency (STT) reported. Investigators did not want to comment if the woman's body has been found.

According to the description published by the police, Milla is about 165 centimeters tall and slim in body. She has black long hair and tattoos. At the time of her disappearance, she was probably wearing dark clothes and pink shoes.

Clues

The National Bureau of Investigation is interested in any clues related to Milla Aronen's movements after 7 June. In addition, police are requesting observations of a car she used over the weekend. Her car is a 2001 Volkswagen Golf with license plate number KPJ-506.
