The police arrested on Monday evening a man suspected of aggravated robbery at an R-kioski in Jätkäsaari, Helsinki.
A few hours before the arrest, the Helsinki Police Department released several images of the suspect taken from the surveillance camera recordings, in an attempt to get some clues or tips from the public about his whereabouts.
According to the information published in a press release, the aggravated robbery attempt took place on Sunday at about 16:40 in the afternoon at the R-kiosk located in Selkämerenkatu 7. The suspect was recorded by the store's surveillance camera and at the time of the incident he was probably carrying a firearm, the police said.
The man's arrest went smoothly, and now the investigation continues with interrogations.
The police thanked the public for the many messages with relevant information received, which "significantly contributed to the fast capture of the suspect".
