On Tuesday evening, a few minutes after 17:00, the Helsinki police department warned via Twitter about the disappearance of a 7-year-old boy in the Mellunmäki neighborhood, in eastern Helsinki.
The alert was active for less than an hour. At 17:55, the police informed also via Twitter that the child had been found. The boy simply returned home, where his parents had been waiting for him.

According to the first information provided by the police, the child involved in the incident is light skinned and has blonde hair. At the time of his disappearance he wore a blue jacket, blue rubber boots, blue sweatpants and a grey cap. He was also carrying a red bag.
Finnish journal Iltalehti reported that the child was seen last time at Mellunmäki ala-aste school at 16:00. According to this journal, 5 police patrols had been mobilized and sent to the area for the search. Police agents were searching near the school and in surrounding areas.
The police had called for public assistance to find the boy. Later thanked those who attempted to help and shared the alert.
