Passenger cars registration fell by 9.6% in June
Toyota, Skoda and Volkswagen remain as the most cars bought by the Finns.
In June 2019 a total of 18,198 new motor vehicles were registered, of which 12,583 were automobiles. First registrations decreased by 3.5% from the corresponding month of the previous year. The number of new passenger cars registered was 10,537, which was 9.6% down from the year before. The share of new diesel-driven passenger cars was 17.8%.
These data are based on the Vehicular and Driver Data Register of the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency (Traficom) and they have been produced by Statistics Finland. The numbers are exclusive of the vehicles on the Åland Islands.

Decrease in January-June
In the January to June period of 2019 a total of 102,346 vehicles were first registered. Compared to the year before, there was a decrease of 5.8%. The number of passenger cars first registered in the January to June period was 60,277, which is 13.4 % down from the year before.
The most common passenger car brands first registered in the January to June period were Toyota, Skoda and Volkswagen.
