Oodi library’s lending services reopened on Friday, 8 May.
Helsinki's main library is open during reduced opening hours from 8:00 to 20:00 on weekdays. Also, the first two opening hours are intended for transactions by risk groups.
On Saturday, the library is open from 10:00 to 18:00 and there is no separate time for at-risk groups.
Library director Anna-Maria Soininvaara said that the aim is organizing transactions in the library so that there are as few contacts with the other people as possible. Books are borrowed from a vending machine on the third floor.
The guard is supposed to make sure that the queue goes smoothly and people respect the social distance. Handbags will be available for customer use. Staff will assist customers as needed.
Extensions of the library's operations and opening hours will be known in June.
