Migri apologizes for sending letters with wrong information
The Finnish Immigration Service (Migri) today apologized to customers who may have received letters containing incorrect information.
Migri reported today that about 2,400 letters concerning the retaining of Finnish Citizenship have been sent. Of them, "about 170 contained incorrect name and address details," Migri explained.
"We apologize for the mistake." "If you have received such a letter, you do not need to contact us. The letters did not contain any sensitive personal data," the Immigration agency said in its last customer bulletin.
Finnish citizens who also hold the citizenship of another state may automatically lose their Finnish citizenship at the age of 22 years if they do not have a sufficient connection with Finland.
People who have lived less than 7 years in Finland
The Finnish Immigration Service notifies persons whose home municipality has been in Finland for less than seven years of their risk of losing their Finnish citizenship and of the possibility of retaining it.
The Finnish Immigration Service has sent this notification to persons who will reach the age of 18 and whose address is available in the Population Information System.
