On Thursday 25 June, Prime Minister Sanna Marin and President of Argentina Alberto Fernández discussed deepening relations and commercial cooperation between their countries and the situation with regard to the COVID-19 epidemic.
Prime Minister Marin told President Fernández that Finnish companies have a lot to offer to Argentina in the digital sector, the Government Communications Department said in a press release.
Marin also said that Finland appreciates Argentina’s efforts to promote digital equality, including through education and the development of artificial intelligence.
The Finnish head of government emphasised that Finland hopes that Argentina will continue to be Finland’s partner as an advocate for international cooperation.
Covid-19 situation
The Prime Minister and the President also discussed the situation in their countries with regard to the coronavirus epidemic and the measures taken to combat the pandemic.
Both Finland and Argentina have taken the prevention of the spread of Covid-19 infections seriously, and so far levels of infection in the two countries have remained moderate, the Prime Minister's office explained.
