Man shot in his hand at Kontula shopping center

Police have arrested a man suspected of shooting another with an airgun in front of a restaurant in the Kontula shopping center, in Helsinki.

According to police information, the suspected crime took place on Tuesday 1 September at around 21:30. The victim, who was shot in the hand, is a man born in the 1970s. 

The police have not released any information about the aggressor, his origin or his characteristics. The press release just says the attack was preceded by a fight between both men.

The attacker was detained by the police and the airgun was seized.

Police say no further details will be released.
