The Oulu police have reported a violent incident, most likely drug-related, in which a man was shot and beaten.
According to the scarce police information provided, the events occurred on Thursday 15 April in Alppila, a district of Oulu located along the Oulu-Tornio train line.
Around 2:00 p.m., the police received a notification through the emergency center that the sound of a gunshot had been heard in Patteritie in Alppila and that a man was being beaten at the scene.
When the police arrived at the scene, those involved had already fled. However, they were quickly caught up.
Police arrested four people and the victim was taken to Oulu University Hospital. He had gunshot wounds.
Murder attempt
The case is being investigated as a murder attempt, alleged crimes related to drugs and the use of firearms are also being investigated. The investigation will continue with interrogations and technical criminal investigations.
The police have said that they do not intend to report further on the case, as it is a pre-trial investigation that is in an initial state.
