Finland’s embassy in Baghdad resumes its operations

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs recommends to avoid all travel to Iraq.
Finland’s embassy in Baghdad (Iraq) resumed its operations on 9 June, according to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
On 17 March, the mission was temporarily suspended due to the local restrictions related to the coronavirus outbreak. The restrictions significantly weakened the Embassy's operating conditions.
Due to the general security situation in the country, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs has for years recommended that all travel to Iraq be avoided. The recommendation remains in force. The coronavirus situation in Iraq is also difficult.
