The Finnish Government has organised the 10th Finnish Internet Forum (FIF).
The event will be held on Thursday 6 June in the auditorium of the Little Parliament, where experts will meet to discuss topical matters related to the future of the internet, including 5G networks, open and decentralized web, and the role of the EU in the development of the internet.
A panel discussion before noon will focus on the regulation of the internet in the EU and its impacts on citizens in the era of AI.
A panel discussion in the afternoon will debate the question of how societies will manage to deal with an open internet.
Invited speakers will handle the security of 5G networks, while the keynote speaker will focus on the future of the internet from the EU’s perspective.
To mark the 10th anniversary of the Forum, the event will end with a brief history of the organisation, presented by Johan Helsingius and Yrjö Länsipuro. Participants are welcome to attend a reception at the Sonck conference room on Eteläesplanadi 16 from 17.00 to 19.00.
How to register
The Finnish Internet Forum is organised by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, and the Transport and Communications Committee of Parliament in cooperation with their cooperation partners.
Registration is required for those who want to participate. However, the organizers remarked that there is a limited number of seats and participants will be accepted in the order of registration, informed the Ministry for foreign affairs in a press release.
