The editor-in-chief of Diaspora Glitz Magazine, Obi-West Utchaychukwu, has emerged winner of the Afro Finns Achievement Awards in the category of media. The awards gala night, which took place at Teatteri Forum, witnessed a large turnout of guests.
Obi-West Utchaychukwu is a Nigerian from the Igbo extraction. He was born and raised up in Benin city, Edo state, Nigeria. He studied business administration in the university and he also has a certificate in French language. He moved to Finland six years ago and he has been able to carve out a niche for himself in the field of journalism.
While in Nigeria, he had a stint with a media firm and he has written articles which borders on governance, travel, health and religion. Most of his articles were published by major media houses in Nigeria. He is the CEO of Diaspora Reporters, an online media agency established last year with the mandate of keeping online readers abreast with the latest news around the world. He is also the publisher and editor in chief of Diaspora Glitz Magazine, an inspiring high-end hard copy celebrity, lifestyle, people and event magazine.
The magazine's niche is the diaspora community of Finland. The quarterly magazine was launched early this year and since then it has strived to present highly-focused issues affecting foreigners in Finland and Europe at large. The magazine is fast becoming a platform where people from minority background could express their views.
The vision of the magazine is to become Europe's number 1 Afro magazine.
