International comedians Almost Finns will launch their videos on Foreigner.fi
Almost Finns, Finland's most international group of comedians, wants to be part of the Foreigner.fi family.
Starting next week, Foreigner.fi will publish the new hilarious videos produced by Eric, Karim and Dawda, three young men from different countries struggling to adapt to Finland. The first video will be released on Tuesday 5 November.
In the experiences of these three restless immigrants many readers will undoubtedly see reflected their own adventures as aliens in Finland. And they will also learn about the dilemmas that sometimes involve learning the Finnish language and adapting to the climate and the customs of the country.
Almost Finns is formed by Eric Lipchis (Spain), Karim Ashoor (Egypt) and Dawda (Gambia). All three have traveled the same path in Finland as many other foreigners, with their joys and disappointments. This is evidenced by the fact that they met in August 2018 in a Finnish integration course organized by TE-Toimisto (the network of unemployment offices).
From the very beginning there was a great connection between them. And since Eric had produced in the past more than 100 humorous videos for the Finnish newspaper Aamulehti, the three of them decided to join forces and take advantage of that experience to create a new series.
The members of Almost Finns speak Finnish in their videos (or at least they try so) as a way to encourage their fans to learn this complicated language. But nobody worry, because their work will be subtitled in English, Spanish and Arabic.
