The police targeted its intensified drunk-driving surveillance last week particularly on cottage and other traffic linked with the enjoyment of leisure time.
"The object of surveillance was once again to remind drivers that alcohol and traffic do not mix as well as to prevent accidents due to drunk driving", explained National Police Board member Timo Ajaste.
The number of breathalyser tests performed totaled 44,360. The number of those who had consumed alcohol but remained under the limit was 385.
Adjusted against the work time used in surveillance, fewer drunk drivers were caught than in similar surveillance last year.
