Tom Hanks and his wife diagnosed with coronavirus

The actor Tom Hanks says he and his wife, the actress Rita Wilson, have been diagnosed with coronavirus (koronavirus, in Finnish).

Hanks made a statement on Instagram and said he and his wife felt tired and had colds. They were tested for the coronavirus and the results were positive.

“Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?,” he wrote.

According to CNN, Warner Bros. confirmed the actor was in Australia doing pre-production work on a film about the rock singer Elvis Presley.

Tom Hanks is playing Presley's longtime manager, Tom “Colonel” Parker, in the film. Actor Austin Butler is playing Presley. Australian Baz Luhrmann is going to direct.

NBA SUSPENDED THE SEASON

The NBA announced on Wednesday the season has been suspended after a player preliminarily tested positive for coronavirus.

The news came after the NBA game between the Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder. Players for both teams were on the court at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City for warm-ups but were called back to the locker rooms.

The NBA said the affected player was not in the arena and the test results were reported shortly before tip-off.

"The NBA is suspending game play following the conclusion of tonight's schedule of games until further notice," the NBA said in a statement. "The NBA will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic."
