Following Denmark and Norway, Sweden is also extending its flight ban for passenger aircraft from Britain, which was issued due to concerns about a coronavirus mutation.
The Swedish government announced that the measure imposed on Monday would remain valid up to and including New Year's Eve. Freight planes and ambulance flights are excluded.
The restrictions are however being relaxed for some: Anyone who lives or works in Sweden can now travel to Sweden from Britain again. For people from Denmark who reside and work in Sweden, this already applied before.
Urgent family reasons are also considered a reason for an exception to the entry ban.
