Finland's health authorities confirmed on Friday evening that a second case of coronavirus (koronavirus, as spelled in Finnish), has been diagnosed in the city of Helsinki. This is the second case found in two days.
According to a press release by the Helsinki and Uusimaa Central University Hospital (HUS), the infected person is a woman of working age who had returned home a few days ago from Northern Italy.
She started to feel the symptoms of the disease once she arrived in Finland. After being tested in laboratory, the patient has been sent home, where she has been instructed to remain isolated.
Second case
The hospital says nobody else has been exposed to the disease while she was travelling.
The first coronavirus case in Finland was confirmed on Wednesday. Another "woman of working age" who recently returned from Milan, according to the few information disclosed by Finnish authorities.
She is being treated at HUS hospital and her state of health is good.
