Finnish President Sauli Niinistö is on the path of recovery after having been in hospital due to ongoing Covid-19 symptoms, he wrote in a post on Facebook on Wednesday.
He suffered from pneumonia after his Covid-19 infection, but received the best possible treatment, the 73-year-old politician wrote.
The inflammation and fever were receding and he would continue to recover at home.
Niinistö tested positive for Covid-19 last week. The presidential office had announced on Tuesday that he would be examined in hospital due to ongoing symptoms.
However, it also said he was doing reasonably well and continuing to work from isolation.
