Finnish flag air carrier Finnair also added flights on Tuesday that will enable Finns who are still in their holiday destinations to return to Finland.

"The flights will depart from Las Palmas, Tenerife and Antalya," says Finnair on Twitter.

The company organized 11 additional flights from Malaga to Spain over the weekend.

Finnair informed its passengers that those returning to Finland must place themselves in quarantine-like conditions for two weeks.

Sick people will not be accepted

Passengers with coronavirus (koronavirus, in Finnish) symptoms will not be accepted on board in those return flights. Aircraft boarding is also monitored to ensure that passengers can withstand the physical stresses of flight.

If Covid-19 symptoms occur during the flight, the affected passenger will be isolated and the local health authority notified.

Päivyt Tallqvist, Senior Vice President of Communications at Finnair said, "It is also important that people understand their responsibilities and do not get on board” if they feel sick.
