It will also be necessary to present proof of vaccination to enter restaurants in Navarra from Saturday

The Covid passport is mandatory since last midnight in Catalonia to access bars, restaurants - except on terraces -, gyms and nursing homes. The regional authorities thus expand the use of this tool, which until now was only necessary to enter nightlife venues (nightclubs, discos, pubs).

The use of the health pass is also extended to cinemas, theaters, auditoriums and commercial galleries, among others, although only if there is dance or restaurant activity inside.

Navarra, another of the Spanish communities hardest hit by this sixth wave of the pandemic, will join Catalonia on Saturday and will also make the vaccination to show certificate mandatory to access some restaurants, nightclubs and other events.

According to the Navarrese government, the Covid pass will be required for people from the age of 12 to enter restaurants with capacity for more than 60 customers, nightclubs, establishments with a café-show license and bars with a special license. In the latter, it will be requested from midnight.

The Andalusian government is now studying the possibility of adopting similar measures.

Other regions

Also dubbed as 'green passport', the EU vaccination certificate is one of the tools to deal with the recent increase in infections.

Other Spanish regions such as Galicia and Aragon also require the Covid pass for nightclubs. The region of the Basque Country has not implemented it because its top court has rejected it, which is why the Basque government is now seeking the endorsement of the state Supreme Court.
