Boris Johnson was hospitalized due to Covid-19
On Sunday, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was hospitalized after 10 days of battling the coronavirus.
The British government said that Prime Minister Johnson would be undergoing tests and that he would continue to carry out his duties. "On the advice of his doctor, the Prime Minister has tonight been admitted to hospital for tests," the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement.
"The Prime Minister thanks NHS staff for all of their incredible hard work and urges the public to continue to follow the Government's advice to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives," continued the statement.
Johnson announced that he had tested positive for the virus on March 27, describing a cough and a fever in a video posted to Twitter.
Johnson's secretary of state for health, Matt Hancock said on March 27 he had the virus, and chief medical officer, Chris Whitty announced that he would begin self-isolation after displaying Covid-19 symptoms.
